IKEA Team Lead, Checkout Services in Canada


The Team Lead is an exciting leadership and development opportunity in IKEA Vaughan’s Check-out Services team. This role will be responsible for leading and developing our talented team of co-workers to help drive amazing customer experiences as well as the store’s day-to-day operating procedures to strengthen IKEA’s position as the best home furnishing store.

YOUR ASSIGNMENTYour tasks will include:

  • Contribute as a member of the Check-out Services team, ensure customer convenience standards are met, and lead, train and develop Co-workers to benefit both the customer and store
  • Perform cashiering duties and cash reconciliations accurately and timely and in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Monitor Check-out Services equipment and work spaces to ensure optimal working conditions are being maintained
  • Create an environment where the IKEA Culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of Co-workers and customers
  • Respond to and resolve often complex customer issues with urgency
  • Balance the needs of the customer with store operational procedures and financial goals
  • Partner with Safety & Loss Prevention to ensure policies, proper procedures and audits are adhered to
  • Execute annual action plan for Customer Service and contribute to efficient department schedules to maintain key figure goals and hourly budgets
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area following waste management guidelines
  • Assume responsibility for other tasks and projects as they occur YOUR PROFILEYour knowledge, skills and experience include:

  • You’re an experienced retail leader with a commitment to delivering consistently outstanding customer service for both IKEA’s customers and your fellow co-workers

  • Demonstrate exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to prioritise and organise work
  • Attention-to-detail with good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A passion for sharing your knowledge and training others
  • Proficiency with MS Office and using software relating to cash handling and scheduling will also be highly regarded

Additional Information : IKEA Vaughan requires a minimum availability of 3 shifts per week, of which evenings are required. An open weekend availability is a requirement.
