StandardAero Master Scheduler in Winnipeg, Manitoba
The successful candidate will direct and coordinate production at a business unit level; including production planning and control, scheduling and throughput to meet customer delivery requirements. Coordinates with all departments to determine actual performance, future trends and constraints.
Develops, publishes and maintains the master production schedule, balancing work-in-process, resources, and capacity in conjunction with the Cell Leaders.
Negotiates corrective actions to product schedules when dictated by changes in customer delivery requirements.
Acts as a liaison between production, engineering, purchasing, sales and customer service to control, and adjust if necessary, the master schedule.
Controls the rate of inductions / projects to all production cells / departments based on customer requirements, capacity and work-in-process levels
Develops and implements scheduling, and control methods
Develop and recommend processes and procedures, flowcharts, and material handling methods to ensure optimal utilization of resources to perform maintenance
Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability and routine production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed
Communicates with maintenance / product managers, and various department managers to support customer needs as required
Maintains production tracking boards to ensure they accurately reflect current forecasts, job-flow and monthly throughput.
Provides support and planning recommendations to production planners/leaders.
Provides input to production planning policies and procedures.
Generates delivery measures of performance and recommends operational improvements.
As required, performs duties outlined in the Production Planner job description including scheduling customer work, managing bottlenecks, and controlling production factors to ensure balanced loads and appropriate utilization of available capacity.
Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions
Accountable for inputting scheduling information into Global Production Scheduler attending Estimate Events, as required.
Assist in kitting of units and material handling as required
Carries out other duties as assigned
Strong planning, organizational, analytical, decision making, leadership, interpersonal and negotiation skills,
Ability to understand, utilize and communicate specialized information in speech and written text.
Thorough knowledge of production management computer systems.
Collaborative communication and leadership style
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft office package
College diploma in business administration, production planning (APICS, CPIM), or related discipline; or equivalent.
Several years of experience in production planning and control in a manufacturing environment.
