StandardAero has a position open for a Sr. Benefits and Payroll Administrator. Key responsibilities:
Benefits ˗ Administers employee benefits programs, including retirement, extended healthcare, life, dental, vision, short- and long-term disability plans. Administration includes billing, enrollment, eligibility, other tracking. ˗ Supports new employee orientations (online) which inform new employees of benefit programs, policies, and related enrollment deadlines. ˗ Addresses employee and retiree questions, interfaces with third-party administrators to resolve issues, and provides guidance on policy and plan document interpretation/ application. ˗ Works with employees to promote health and wellness in the workplace; develops programs, distributes education and resources materials, and provides training opportunities to achieve and maintain a healthy workforce. ˗ Conducts analysis of data as necessary to serve management/business information needs.
Payroll ˗ Provide assistance, problem-solving, back-up coverage for payroll function. Working with an on-site payroll administrator, ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for nearly 1300 hourly and salaried employees in 5 provinces of Canada, in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies and practices. ˗ Responsible for all accounting procedures, including remittances. Balances and allocates payroll expenses and payables to appropriate general ledger accounts. Work closely with Finance on all year-end reporting.
College diploma or equivalent experience required.
3-5 years of experience with benefits administration and payroll; knowledge of benefit plan provisions, limits, etc. and payroll regulations.
Strong attention to detail; audit and editing skills.
Exceptional interpersonal communication, listening and writing skills.
Ability to work at a desk on a computer for most of a day
A Plus: Payroll certification by Canadian Payroll Association and/ or experience/ education in Finance or Accounting.
