We are seeking a Data Warehouse Engineer with a demonstrated focus on reporting and business intelligence. This is a fast-paced development environment that delivers high-value, high-impact solutions. The preferred candidate will provide technical and thought leadership in the areas of analysis, design, coding, unit testing, and quality assurance. They will offer insight on our current and future reporting needs, as well as provide support on the maintenance of the data warehouse and reporting systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities include creating documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for key data warehouse and ETL operations.

  • Additionally, this role entails ETL design, development, code maintenance and implementation, leveraging Informatica.

  • Ability to understand reporting requirements and to ensure business requirements meet expected results.

  • Review the deliverables for quality, completeness, compliance to standards and adherence to approach.

  • Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing data warehouse applications.

  • Possess a strong background with data warehousing and reporting architectures, dimensional modeling, and ETL knowledge.

  • Provide expertise in data analysis in the areas of reporting, data warehouse, and business intelligence.

  • Strive to improve data accuracy and organization.

  • Manage request ticket queue for customer related issues.

  • Provide day to day support of data warehouse and troubleshooting of existing process and procedures.

  • Play a pivotal role in all website releases and system migrations.

  • Support existing Informatica workflows and Unix shell jobs.

  • Develop and maintain technical specification documentation for all reports and processes.

  • Perform performance analysis, tuning and measurement of the reporting systems.

  • Share third-level on-call support responsibilities.

  • Work in a team environment to support goals and to improve reporting practices.

  • Strong trouble-shooting, problem-solving skills

  • Working experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and its components SSAS 2008, SSIS 2008 and SSRS 2008

  • Strong SQL, star schema, data modeling, and database skills.

  • Experience in supporting MS SQL Server 2000 Analytical and Reporting Services.

  • Experience in Migration from SQL 2000 to SQL 2008.

  • Expertise in Oracle, RDBMS systems.

  • Strong understanding of MOLAP, ROLAP, and HOLAP implementations.

  • Knowledge of Unix Shell Scripting or Perl.

  • 3 - 5 years of professional experience implementing business intelligence solutions and associated process improvements

  • 3-5 years of professional experience with industry standard OLAP.

  • 3-5 years of professional experience using a reporting package.

  • Self-motivated with a passion for business intelligence.

  • Detail oriented, well-organized, and able to multi-task.

  • Ability to grasp data and business issues and drive them to successful resolution.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Willingness to collaborate and innovate towards technical excellence.

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent work experience; 4+ years professional experience in data analysis, reporting, and Business Intelligence.
